Last Saturday, the Japanese Gardens in Hasselt celebrated the Obon Festival! 🌟 The event brought together people of all ages to honor their ancestors, enjoy traditional performances, and experience the beauty of Japanese customs right here in Belgium.
From stunning Koto performances 🎶🎋, to mesmerizing Taiko drum shows🥁, the festival was a feast for the senses. Visitors also indulged in delicious Japanese street food 🍣, tried their hand at yukata dressing 👘, and participated in the iconic lantern ceremony, lighting up the night with glowing tributes to loved ones. 🎐

This was my very first serious attempt at video editing, back in december 2023. Thanks to Elements of Film I had an opportunity to purchase camera footage, having complete creative freedom to edit the story according to my own creative input. This is a great exercise in order to gain knowledge and experience as a freelance videographer.
Except for filming the footage, everything was done by myself. So that means scrubbing all the footage, finding out how I want to tell the story, editing the footage, all of the sound design and finally just a bit of coloring.

This game is about growth, strength as a society, acceptance and community, it’s about daring to venture into the world for a greater good against all odds. They make you care about this world, they make you understand its motives, its past, present and possible future.
You carry literal worlds on your back. Worlds that you can then explore and interconnect. The game’s scifi art style is awe-inspiring and its puzzling beyond intuitive.
Cocoon is an incredible experience and I’m confident that its 4 to 5 hour adventure will surely leave a firm footprint on the creative world of gaming.
So many great games were released and announced last year, but unfortunately there were also a record breaking number of layoffs, which is quickly becoming a very sad trend in the gaming industry and there’s no indication of it slowing down.
Nevertheless, with this video I want to celebrate gaming and its developers.
